Univox Personal LOOP System. This is a good loop system. This one has a volume and tone control. It is encased in an aluminum housing. Uses a loop of wire placed around the perimeter of the room. The loop can be placed alongside the baseboard, on the celing or below in the basement.
Is there an advantage using a room loop rather then a pad? I think so. It is because with a room loop I can sit anywhere in the room and hear. Others with telecoils can hear too. Disadvantage over a pad: It takes longer to set-up particularly if you are traveling and want to set up the loop quickly.
